PS 41 Receives Respect for All Award

Members of the Character Education Committee are pictured here receiving the Respect For All Award, including: Carrie Orr, Michele Farinet, Emily Cacciapaglia, John Baird, Nancy Wahl, Principal Kelly Shannon, Jessica Storer, Lauren Duerson, Phil Smith, and Francine List.

PS 41 is a recipient of the 2015 Respect For All Award. This award recognizes schools for the outstanding programs they have created to combat bullying, discrimination and harassment. Congratulations to all faculty, students and parents for your success in developing a school environment that is inclusive and respectful of diversity.

Chancellor Fariña and City Council Education Committee Chair Daniel Dromm Congratulate Record 55 'Respect for All Schools'

Students born in the year 2011 are eligible for Pre-K programs for the 2015/16 school year. The online application process is done on the DOE website starting Monday, March 16 and ending Friday, April 24.

PS 41 will offer TWO (2) FULL-DAY Pre-K sessions. The correct information is on the "Updated Pre-K Manhattan Directory for District 2" link on the DOE website. Each Pre-K session has 18 students, for a total of 36 students.

The priority in admissions is:
1. Zoned siblings
2. Zoned applicants
3. Non-zoned siblings
4. Non-zoned applicants

Due to the high number of zoned siblings each year, we encourage you to apply broadly--the Pre-K Directory available on the DOE website has information on all programs in the area--there are many.

For information, contact our registrar Doreen at 212/675-2756 (0) or e-mail the Parent Coordinator at MFarinet@schools.nyc.gov

P.S. 41 Upcoming Parent Workshop

Thank you so much for coming to all of our parent workshops throughout the year.  If you have a suggestion of a topic we should cover, please send a note into the office addressed to the counseling department letting us know your suggestion.  Also, please let us know any feedback you may have in regards to the workshops we have had throughout the year.

Thank you so much in advance,

The P.S. 41 School Counseling Department

Children benefit from exercise and should be given the opportunity to play outside whenever possible. Unless it is sleeting, raining, snowing or there are hazardous conditions on the playground, we will be sending students outside for recess.  Low temperatures are not a barrier to outside play, as long as children are appropriately dressed.

We ask that parents ensure that children arrive at school with appropriate attire in order to participate in the daily recess period.

All parents must create an account on our new eChalk system.  Click here for instructions on how to create your account. You must have an account to view important information from your child's teacher, the Parent Coordinator and the PTA.

If you already set up your account, but have forgotten your password, please click here.
